Easy said !

You know how it is when you’re watching someone else work?
Maybe you’re watching a hiker struggle up a steep trail, and you’re sitting at the base thinking, “Just put one foot in front of the other, man. It’s just walking!” Or you see a developer staring at a screen and you think, “It’s just logic. How hard can it be to type some code?”
We are all “experts” at things we’ve never actually tried.
We live in this world of “shoulds.” We tell people: You’re smart, you should be more creative. You work so hard, you should just learn to work smarter. You’re an athlete, surely you can handle a little bit of studying.

But here’s the reality check: Being smart doesn’t make you an artist. Being a hard worker doesn’t automatically mean you know the shortcuts.
It’s so easy to stand on the outside and say, “C’mon, I could have done that better.” We hand out advice like it’s free candy. But the second—the very second—you step into those shoes? Everything changes.
Suddenly, that “easy” hiking trail feels like Everest. That “simple” code looks like an alien language. You realize that what looks like a straight line from the sidelines is actually a maze when you’re standing inside it.
We find out the hard way that “easy said” and “easy done” live on two different planets.
So, the next time we’re tempted to look at someone else’s struggle and say, “Why aren’t you doing this?” maybe we should take a beat. Because until you’re the one breathing the thin air at the top of the mountain or staring at the blank page, you don’t really know how heavy those shoes actually feel.
