Trust arrives fast now, like something you buy online.
Click a button, and “friends” appear in a line.
Click again, “relationships” start quick and bold,
Click once more, and your stories are told.
Long ago, trust grew slowly, day after day,
Real friends took time, in a different way.
Now it’s a problem, this speed and this ease,
True trust feels missing, like a gentle breeze.
It seems so amazing, so many we “know,”
“Friends,” we declare, wherever we go.
We meet and we chat, we might even meet up,
But the deep, real connections don’t fill every cup.
The work that bonds take, the time spent together,
The journey you share, through any rough weather,
These things get lost when it’s all quick and done,
Like a race that’s been finished before it’s begun.
We wish for a change, a return to the old way,
Where trust was like cooking, it took more than a day.
Not grabbing at instant fixes, so shiny and new,
Like Rome wasn’t built in a day, honest trust needs time too.
So trust how real trust grows, bit by bit, slow and sure,
Be careful of “trust” that arrives at your door.
Because true trust inside you, the honest and deep,
Is what truly protects you, the promises to keep !
