All firsts are special! Be it our first salary, trip, gift, love, expensive buy, anniversary, night out, phone, house, job etc etc. They hold a special place in our hearts. This is one such story of my first pay transfer/incentive.
I always had this thought process that first pays are kind of hyped. But the day I received mine, I realized it’s on point. I still exactly remember the details and the amount being Rs.7000. My first ever pay transfer/incentive! It’s hard to express what it still feels like.
Backstory goes this way:-
It was during my college days when I got to know about this application through common sources. A platform common for all artists to come together, collaborate, connect and interact with people around. You could consider it somewhat similar to ‘Tiktok’ nowadays. The only difference is that we had to audition for this first before getting selected and getting tagged as a creator. This might sound strange but being a dancer and having some free time, this excited me and I applied for the auditions. The process of getting selected just aimed at knowing the views all the appreciations that you would get when you perform and interact with the audience. I won’t deny the fact that I was a bit nervous. The excitement within me was successful in dragging me to the audition room and guess what, I got selected.
There started another chapter in my life wherein I was the creator and there was this app to dance, collaborate, interact and have fun. It was a roller coaster ride with its own pros and cons. It broadened my views about the types of people existing in this world. Taught me the good, the bad. And made me a better version when it comes to dealing with people now. It got boring at times too. The only motivation that kept me going at that point of time was completion of a month and waiting for my incentive. The most awaited day right? But yet again, I was a little anxious back then. With mere joy and excitement, I went crazy dancing around when the received X amount message popped on my phone. My parents were proud and happy to see me that way. No words would justify my rush of emotions. Later, due to few reasons, I couldn’t continue it but this will always be remembered and be special to me. I spent every penny for various useful purposes (which in its own self would need another blog article to get described), but that message pop-up, it’s a joy for life time. This experience gave me the exact closure of “hard earned” money and taught me how important each penny you earn and spend matters. Those Rs.7000 will always remain significant, after all, it was my first pay transfer or salary/incentive.
This is my short little quaint to tell you about my first pay. I know all of you would be equally eager to share yours. I am waiting right here to be your Listener of stories. Do write to me and share some amazingly same stock flooded emotions, after all, sabki apni apni alag hi pehli kahani hoti hai!
With this wait in mind, here I go playing around with words —
Meri pehle tankhwa thi woh
Jiski khushi mere nach gaane se jhalki
Meri pehle tankhwa thi woh
Jisne mujhe paison ki ahmeeyat se bhi jyada, usse kharch karte waqt ki samjhdaari sikhayi
Meri pehle tankhwa thi woh
Jisne mujhe vitteey swatantra ki jhalak dikhayi
Meri pehli tankhwa thi woh
Jo ek khubsoorat yaad tab bhi bani thi aur ab bhi bani hai !!

Such a nice article and subject. I didn’t remember exactly when it happened with me but took me to those days when after every competition was waiting for this special moment.
